Well its the 1st of june, 7:30 in the morning, and it is raining. I am sitting on my bed going through my emails before I take Deisal out for he's morning walk. The sky is grey and the rain is falling steadily. Looks like it has been falling all night. I enjoy walking on days like these. There are less people around, sounds seem to be muted, the world is quiet. The absence of sound seems to heighten the other senses, I find I am more aware of the smells that surround me.
Time to pull on the field jacket and gun boots, and go for a walk.

Girl Is On My Mind by The Black Keys

While out walking Deisal this morning I passed these flowers in some woods on route. It was a fantastic morning. The sun was hot, there was no breeze to speak of, and being Saturday it was quite. It seemed like I had the whole moore to my self, glorious. The woods run along a small stream on Hatherleigh moore. I took some photographs.
I quite like this one.
I like this one, even though its not a hundred percent sharp (limitations of the camera).

Stepping through the landscape on waypoint at a time
While out walking this morning I got to thinking about how hard it would or wouldn't be to build an electronic compass.
You know the type of thing, a hand held unit, with an electronic display that mimics the actions of a real compass. Being electronic it could be paired with a GPS unit via some form of Personal Area Network (PAN).
How hard can it be. A lot of the functionality has probable already been engineered into an integrated circuits.

Deisal's morning walk in photos
I thought I would put up some images of the route Deisal and I take in the morning.
The start of our walk.
Open fields. Deisal is off the lead.
Deisal waiting at the gate.

A slight detour.
I have had to put the 'Here comes everybody' book down for a while. I have just bought a couple of books on self branding. Nothing todo with red hot irons, more todo with image etc.
Being self employed I need to present myself in the best light and I am hoping these books will allow me to fulfill my full potential.
We shall see.

Reading Material
I am half way through 'Here Comes Everybody' by Clay Shirky at the moment. This book also has it's own blog. It is an interesting book. This book along with a recent presentation I attended on Innovation has made me question and change my ideas on business.

Morning coffe
I have started taking a mug of coffee with me on my morning walk with Deisal.
Half way through our walk is this great spot. The picture doesn't do it justice. I can sit for fifteen minutes, drink my coffee, and get my mind in order for the rest of the day.
I am not sure if Deisal appreciates the wait, but he settles and makes himself comfortable for the time it takes to drink my coffee.
